OnHive is growing, and we’re looking for a Junior AV / Field Technician to join our team on an hourly basis

This is a great chance for someone who is hands-on, curious about technology, enjoys working in different environments, and wants to build experience in the smart home, networking, AV and automation industry.

You don’t need to be an expert, we’re looking for someone eager to learn, reliable, and comfortable working with their hands. Experience or affinity with AV, IT, networking, electrical, construction or smart home technology is an asset, but we’re open to the right person with a strong work ethic and willingness to learn.

The Opportunity

This is an hourly position and is not a guaranteed 40-hour-per-week position. Hours will vary based on project schedules and workload, with opportunities for additional hours as projects come up.

As a Junior Technician, you’ll work alongside our experienced technicians and help with installations, service calls and project work throughout the GTA.

You may be involved in:

- Assisting with AV, networking, security and automation installations




- Running and terminating cables
- Mounting TVs, speakers, cameras and other equipment
- Assisting with equipment setup and configuration
- Using basic hand and power tools
- Troubleshooting and assisting with service calls
- Keeping work areas clean and organized
- Learning new technology, products and installation techniques

What we're looking for

- Junior or entry-level candidates are welcome
- Some hands-on experience with tools, electronics, construction, AV, IT or similar work is an asset
- Comfortable learning new technology, apps and software
- Basic understanding of computers and networking is an asset
- Robust work ethic and reliability
- Good attention to detail
- Professional and friendly when working in clients' homes and businesses
- Willingness to learn and take direction
- Comfortable working on ladders and in construction environments
- Able to lift equipment and perform physical work when required
- Valid Ontario G driver's licence and reliable transportation to get to our office and job sites
- Legally entitled to work in Canada
- Clean driver's abstract

Pay: $22.00-$26.00 per hour

- AEC / DEP or Skilled Trade Certificate (preferred)
