Junior Construction Coordinator

Plainsman Builders is a locally owned and operated construction and development company that's been building award-winning projects in Kamloops for over 55 years.

We're a lean, hardworking team building exciting residential and commercial projects across Central BC. We don't have layers of management, and we don't believe in making simple things complicated.

We're looking for a Junior Construction Coordinator who wants to roll up their sleeves, learn the business, and become an important part of our team.

The job

You'll work directly with our Construction Managers and company partners, helping keep our projects organized, on schedule, and moving forward.

One day you might be working on drawings, RFIs, scheduling, or estimating. The next, you could be coordinating trades, solving a problem on site, or helping get a project across the finish line.

You'll work primarily from our Kamloops office, with occasional visits to active construction sites.

We don't expect you to know everything. We do expect you to be willing to learn, ask questions, and take responsibility for your work.

Who we're looking for

We're looking for someone who:

- Lives in Kamloops or is serious about making Kamloops home. (Please no out-of-province applications - we are local-focused and you will not be considered)
- Shows up, works hard, and follows through on commitments.
- Is organized, pays attention to detail, and takes pride in getting things right.
- Can take direction but doesn't need someone looking over their shoulder all day.
- Isn't afraid to pick up the phone, ask questions, or figure things out.
- Understands that construction has deadlines, and sometimes getting the job done means coming in early or staying late.
- Wants to learn, improve,



and build a long-term career in construction.

A construction-related diploma, degree, trade background, or some practical construction experience would be ideal. Recent graduates are welcome. If you have a masters degree in engineering and are looking at this role as a stepping-stone, then this is likely not the role for you. Experience with construction software is an asset, but attitude and work ethic matter more to us.

A valid driver's licence and reliable transportation are strongly preferred.
