Job Summary

We are seeking a passionate and skilled Sushi Chef to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing nigirI, sashimi and assisting with maki. This position is open to those with at least one year of experience, and will be asked to demonstrate their maki skills ( for example: making a California roll) during the interview. Please note that our location provides service to a high volume of customers in a short duration, which may include customizations . Therefore we are looking for someone who is attentive to details, a team player and physically able to work 10-11 hours. As a qualified Sushi Chef, we ask you bring and maintain your personal tools to work.

Pay on post is not accurate, as the pay will be paid by day and determined by skills shown (upholding to proper pay standard) with a maximum salary of $250-300/day.

Hours: 4-5 days a week (ex: Tue - Thurs 10:30-9:30, Fri 10:30-10:00, Sat 11:30-9:30)

Responsibilities

- Prepare and assemble sushi, sashimi,



and maki with attention to detail and consistency, and speed
- Maintain high standards of food safety, hygiene, and cleanliness in all food handling and preparation areas
- Help organize ingredients and ensure proper storage to preserve quality and freshness ( for example: scallops, avocado, etc.)
- Follow recipes and plating guide to create visually appealing dishes that meet customer expectations
- Experience with using, cleaning and assembling Maki Machine is an asset (we use the newest version and will help adjust to the machine)
- Hands-on experience in fish preparation, (we use fresh salmon and tuna at our location, therefore you must be able to filet and prep the fish) within a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of proper food handling procedures and safety standards in the food industry (Food Handler’s Certification is an asset)

Pay: $17.60-$33.16 per hour
