Harkeep Maintenance is looking for a reliable and responsible Lead Building Caretaker / Maintenance Worker in Portage la Prairie, Manitoba.

This is a part-time position paying $20/hour, approximately 15–20 hours per week, with additional hours as needed.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the general care and maintenance of a residential building.

Responsibilities

- Clean hallways, common areas and washrooms
- Garbage and recycling removal
- Basic plumbing and minor repairs
- Replace light bulbs, locks, hinges and small parts
- Grass cutting and general grounds maintenance
- Snow and ice removal, salting and sanding
- Regular building inspections
- Check filters, exhaust fans, sump pumps and other basic equipment
- Complete maintenance and inspection logs
- Check vacant units when required
- Respond to emergency and urgent work orders
- Communicate professionally with tenants




- Report specialized repairs when a qualified contractor is required

Requirements:
- Reliable and responsible
- Able to work independently
- Basic maintenance and plumbing experience
- Comfortable communicating with tenants
- Reliable transportation is preferred
- Must be able to respond to emergencies/urgent work within 30 minutes, including after-hours
- Available for occasional evenings and weekends

Previous experience as a building caretaker, maintenance worker, handyman, property maintenance worker or similar is an asset.

Pay: $20/hour
