Licensed General Dentist – Mobile Senior Dental Care

Ottawa, ON | Full-Time or Part-Time | Flexible Schedule

Senior Mobile Dental Services is seeking a Licensed General Dentist (DDS/DMD) to provide professional, on-site dental care to seniors living in retirement residences and long-term care communities throughout Ottawa and surrounding areas.

This position is exclusively for a licensed Dentist authorized to practice independently in Ontario. Applicants must hold a current Royal College of Dental Surgeons of Ontario (RCDSO) licence in good standing.

This is not a Dental Assistant or Dental Hygienist position.

Our mobile dental model brings comprehensive dental care directly to patients who may have difficulty accessing traditional dental clinics. With strong clinical and administrative support, you can focus on delivering high-quality, patient-centred care without managing the mobile setup or equipment logistics yourself.

Our experienced dental assistants and administrative team coordinate instruments, equipment, transportation, scheduling, facility communication, and day-to-day operations.

Key Responsibilities As a Licensed General Dentist, you will provide comprehensive dental care to seniors in retirement residences and long-term care facilities.

Your responsibilities will include

- Perform comprehensive dental examinations and oral health assessments.
- Diagnose dental conditions and develop individualized treatment plans.
- Provide general dentistry services, including restorative treatments and fillings.
- Perform dental extractions when clinically appropriate.




- Assess and manage common dental conditions and oral health concerns.
- Determine appropriate treatment options based on each patient's clinical needs and medical history.
- Explain diagnoses, treatment recommendations, procedures, risks, and aftercare instructions to patients, families, and caregivers.
- Provide patient-centred care to seniors, including patients with complex medical histories, mobility limitations, cognitive impairments, or accessibility challenges.
- Exercise independent clinical judgment and make appropriate treatment decisions.
- Maintain accurate clinical records, treatment notes, and patient documentation using dental practice management software.
- Follow professional standards, infection prevention protocols, and patient safety requirements.
- Communicate effectively with dental assistants, administrative staff, facility personnel, and caregivers.
- Travel to scheduled retirement residences and long-term care facilities throughout Ottawa and surrounding areas.

Qualifications & Requirements

Required Qualifications

- DDS or DMD degree from an accredited dental school.
- Current Royal College of Dental Surgeons of Ontario (RCDSO) licence in good standing.
- Licensed and authorized to practise independently as a General Dentist in Ontario.
- Eligible to work as a Dentist in Canada.
- Strong clinical judgment, diagnostic skills, and treatment-planning abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Compassionate, professional, and patient-centred approach.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating with a supportive dental team.
- Comfort providing care to older adults, including patients with medical, cognitive, mobility, or accessibility challenges.
- Willingness and ability to travel between scheduled facilities in Ottawa and surrounding areas.

Additional Assets

- Experience providing dental care to seniors or vulnerable populations.
- Experience in long-term care, retirement residences, or mobile dentistry.




- Experience treating patients with complex medical histories.
- Familiarity with dental practice management software.
