Hespeler Village Optical is looking for a Licensed Optician to join our friendly and growing optical practice in Cambridge.

This position is well suited to a newly licensed optician or someone with some industry experience who is looking for a permanent position with flexible hours and the opportunity to grow with our team.

Previous optical experience is an asset but not required. Newly licensed opticians are encouraged to apply.

We are open to both full time and part-time candidates, and hours can be flexible based on mutual availability.

Responsibilities

- Assist customers with frame selection, fit, comfort, and style
- Interpret optical prescriptions and recommend appropriate lens options
- Take accurate optical measurements
- Fit, dispense, adjust, and repair prescription eyewear
- Explain lens materials, coatings, features, and proper eyewear care
- Assist with contact lenses within the optician's scope of practice
- Process customer orders and maintain accurate patient records
- Assist with insurance and benefit claims as required
- Work collaboratively with our optometrist and other team members
- Provide friendly, professional, and knowledgeable customer service
- Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming optical environment

Qualifications

- Licensed Optician registered and in good standing with the College of Opticians of Ontario – required
- Newly licensed opticians are welcome and encouraged to apply
- Previous optical or retail experience is an asset but not required

- Professional, friendly, reliable, and dependable
- Good attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Willingness to learn and grow within the practice

Schedule

We offer flexibility in scheduling and are open to discussing an arrangement that works for both the successful candidate and the store.

Full-time and part-time applicants are welcome. Weekday and weekend availability can be discussed during the interview process.
