Cafe Portrait is a locally owned and operated café and brunch spot dedicated to providing a warm, welcoming environment with high-quality ingredients. Since February 2020, we have been serving the West End community with great service and a home away from home atmosphere.

Summary

We are seeking a Prep/Line Cook to join our team at Cafe Portrait in the West End. This role is vital in ensuring our kitchen runs smoothly by preparing ingredients and assisting with food production to deliver exceptional dining experiences aligned with our values of quality and community.

Your Role

As part of our kitchen team, you’ll play a key role in delivering an exceptional dining experience. Your responsibilities will include:

- Prepping fresh ingredients
- Cooking and assembling dishes with care and efficiency
- Plating meals to our café’s aesthetic standards
- Maintaining cleanliness and organization in the kitchen
- Washing dishes and ensuring a smooth kitchen workflow

What We’re Looking For

- Experience:



At least 1 year in a commercial kitchen (restaurant experience required)
- Skills: Strong knowledge of food safety, cooking techniques, and kitchen operations
- Work Ethic: Ability to multitask and work efficiently under pressure
- Team Player: Great communication skills and a positive, collaborative attitude
- Attention to Detail: Commitment to maintaining high cleanliness and food quality standards

Pay: $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 25.0 – 30.0 per week
