Paragon Farms is seeking a full-time Maintenance Technician/Mechanic to help keep our farm, feed mill, vehicles, and equipment operating safely and reliably.

This is a hands-on position that includes both shop-based repairs and on-site maintenance throughout our poultry farms and feed mill. The successful candidate will work independently and alongside our maintenance and operations teams to perform preventative maintenance, troubleshoot equipment, and complete repairs.

Key Responsibilities

Farm Equipment Maintenance

- Service, troubleshoot, and repair tractors, skid steers, forklifts, farm trucks, and trailers
- Maintain and repair small engines and equipment, including lawn mowers, pressure washers, generators, blowers, and fan motors
- Assist with the maintenance of farm vehicles, semi-trucks, and other agricultural equipment
- Complete preventative maintenance and respond to equipment breakdowns

Feed Mill and Facility Maintenance
- Perform preventative maintenance on feed mill and barn equipment
- Repair and maintain motors, conveyors, augers, bearings, belts, fans, and drive systems
- Troubleshoot mechanical and basic electrical issues involving AC and DC voltage
- Complete general facility repairs and equipment upkeep
- Work safely in active farm and feed mill environments, which may be dusty or dirty

Shop Work
- Complete equipment servicing, repairs, and rebuilds
- Perform basic welding and fabrication, or develop these skills through training
- Use hand and power tools safely and effectively
- Help maintain a clean, organized, and safe shop
- Communicate the status of repairs and completed work to supervisors and team members

Qualifications and Skills




- Mechanically inclined and comfortable completing hands-on repairs
- Basic experience with hand tools, equipment troubleshooting, and maintenance
- Basic electrical knowledge involving AC and DC voltage, or a willingness to learn
- Basic welding and fabrication skills are an asset, but training may be provided
- Experience in farming, industrial maintenance, automotive repair, heavy equipment, or a related field is preferred
- Able to work independently and collaboratively
- Able to communicate clearly, provide updates, and ask questions when additional direction is needed
- Reliable, organized, safety-conscious, and willing to learn
- Valid Class 5 driver’s license
- Willing and able to learn how to safely tow and maneuver a trailer
- Comfortable working at heights and using man lifts and safety harnesses when required
- Comfortable working inside poultry barns and around animals
- Committed to treating animals responsibly and being mindful of their health and well-being
- Available to occasionally work late, respond on weekends, and participate in a rotational weekend emergency on-call schedule

- Work workplace: Shop, poultry barns, feed mill, and outdoor farm locations
- Compensation: $28 to $32 per hour, based on experience
- Benefits: Available after successful completion of the probationary period
- Start date: As soon as possible
