Job Summary
S.I.L. Plastics is seeking a hands-on and dependable Manufacturing Operations Coordinator to assist in leading the day-to-day operations of our manufacturing facility. This role will support management in coordinating production, orders, shipping, inventory, and employees to help ensure the operation runs smoothly and efficiently.
The successful candidate will work closely with management and the production team to coordinate priorities, keep orders moving, assist with shipping and production requirements, and help resolve issues as they arise.
This is a hands-on role for someone who is organized, proactive, willing to take initiative, and comfortable stepping in wherever needed to support the team and keep operations moving.
Responsibilities
- Assist management in leading and coordinating daily manufacturing operations.
- Assist with reviewing incoming orders and determining production priorities.
- Help coordinate production schedules and ensure orders are completed accurately and on time.
- Monitor orders through production, picking, packing, and shipping.
- Assist with coordinating daily shipping requirements and ensuring orders are prepared and shipped on schedule.
- Work closely with production employees to communicate daily priorities and requirements.
- Assist with monitoring inventory, raw materials, and production supplies.
- Help identify production delays, order issues, material shortages, and other operational concerns.
- Assist with troubleshooting and finding practical solutions to day-to-day issues.
- Support machine setup, changeovers,
and production activities when required.
- Help ensure production areas are organized, efficient, and operating safely.
- Assist with quality control and ensure products meet company standards before shipping.
- Work closely with management, purchasing, sales, and administrative staff to ensure information and priorities are communicated clearly.
- Provide support and direction to production employees when needed.
- Assist with training new employees on production procedures and processes.
- Help maintain a clean, organized, and safe manufacturing environment.
- Step in to assist with production, shipping, receiving, or other operational tasks as needed.
- Take initiative to identify opportunities to improve workflow, organization, productivity, and efficiency.
- Support management with other operational duties and projects as required.
Requirements
- 1+ years of experience in a manufacturing, production, warehouse, or operations environment.
- Previous leadership, supervisory, or team lead experience is an asset.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing and production operations.
- Experience with orders, production scheduling, shipping, inventory, or warehouse operations is an asset.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and changing requirements.
- Strong problem-solving skills and practical decision-making abilities.
- Good communication skills and ability to work effectively with management and employees.
- Comfortable working in a hands-on manufacturing environment.
- Basic computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Outlook.
- Experience with ERP, inventory, or order management systems is an asset.
- Reliable, proactive, and willing to take initiative.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
