MARINE FLOORING INSTALLER

$40/HOUR STARTING PART-TIME PARKSVILLE, BC and Vancouver Island

Island Ultradeck is looking for a reliable, detail-oriented Marine Flooring Installer to join our team. We specialize in custom EVA foam marine flooring for boats throughout Vancouver Island and are looking for someone who takes pride in precise, high-quality work.

NO EXPERIENCE NECESSARY — FULL TRAINING PROVIDED.

This is a hands-on, part-time position focused specifically on installing pre-cut custom marine flooring. No templating or design work is required.

Because our flooring is custom-made for each boat, attention to detail is extremely important. We are looking for someone who is patient, careful and particular about their work rather than someone who simply wants to get the job done quickly.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

- Installing custom, pre-cut EVA foam marine flooring on boats
- Preparing and thoroughly cleaning surfaces prior to installation
- Removing existing flooring, adhesive and other materials when required
- Carefully laying out and positioning flooring pieces before installation
- Accurately fitting and installing custom-cut flooring
- Using hand tools and installation equipment
- Identifying potential installation issues before flooring is permanently applied
- Maintaining a clean and organized work area
- Travelling to marinas, boatyards and customer locations when required
- Ensuring completed installations meet Island Ultradeck's quality standards

WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR Previous marine flooring experience is not required. We are willing to train the right person.

- Extremely detail-oriented and particular about the quality of their work
- Dependable, punctual and flexible with their availability
- Patient and comfortable doing precise, hands-on work
- Comfortable using hand tools




- Able to follow layouts and installation instructions accurately
- A good practical problem solver
- Comfortable working on and around boats
- Physically capable of kneeling, bending, climbing in and out of boats and working in tight spaces
- Professional and respectful when working around customers and their boats
- Comfortable working indoors and outdoors in varying conditions
- Able to work independently and as part of a small team
- Someone who takes genuine pride in leaving a job looking excellent

Experience in marine work, flooring, automotive detailing, vinyl/wrap installation, cabinetry, construction, finish carpentry or another precision trade would be an asset, but isn't required. This position may also be a great fit for someone who is semi-retired and looking for well-paid, flexible, part-time work.

SCHEDULE & REQUIREMENTS

- Part-time; typically 1–2 days per week
- Hours and days vary depending on workload; spring and summer are generally busier
- Flexibility is significant, as schedules can change based on customer needs, weather and project timelines
- Valid driver's licence and reliable transportation
- Ability to perform physical work throughout the day
- Excellent attention to detail
- Willingness to learn and follow Island Ultradeck's installation process
