The Rotary Centre for the Arts is a key cultural facility in Kelowna. Situated on the unceded territories of the Syilx/Okanagan People, it is operated by the Kelowna Visual and Performing Arts Centre Society. / Duties The Rotary Centre for the Arts is seeking a qualified and enthusiastic Music Therapist Instructor to facilitate a weekly music therapy program in Kelowna, BC.

The successful candidate will lead engaging, inclusive, and participant-focused music therapy sessions, creating a welcoming environment that supports creativity, connection, participation, and personal development.

Key Responsibilities

- Plan and facilitate weekly music therapy sessions.
- Develop engaging activities appropriate to the needs and abilities of program participants.
- Create a secure, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.
- Use music therapy techniques and activities to encourage participation, communication, creativity, and social connection.
- Prepare session plans and program materials as required.
- Communicate professionally with the Program Coordinator regarding program needs and participant engagement.




- Maintain appropriate professional and ethical standards.

Qualifications

- Must be a certified and registered Music Therapist (MTA).
- Relevant education and professional experience in music therapy.
- Experience facilitating group programs or instructional sessions is an asset.
- Strong communication, organization, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to create engaging and accessible music-based programming.
- Professional, dependable, and comfortable working with diverse participants.
