About BandWorx:

BandWorx is a one-of-a-kind 10-week program in Toronto that gives young musicians (ages 8–19) the full experience of being in a band—from the first jam session to sharing their music with the world. We group students by age and skill level to write and record an original song, learn a cover track, and take the stage for a live performance. We help our students build skills, stage confidence, and lifelong memories in a protected, fun, and professional environment.

The Role:

We are looking for enthusiastic, patient, and experienced Music Instructors / Band Coaches to guide our young musicians through our 10-week sessions. You will act as a mentor, musical director, and producer for your assigned bands, helping them collaborate, write music, and prepare for their final live showcase and recording releases.

Key Responsibilities:

- Lead weekly rehearsal sessions, guiding students through real band dynamics.
- Facilitate the creative process: help bands write and arrange an original song and learn a cover track.
- Mentor students on the creative side of being in a band (choosing a band name, developing a logo, stage presence, etc.).




- Prepare students for their final live performance and studio recording sessions.
- Ensure a safe, structured, and professionally supervised environment that welcomes all experience levels.
- Foster teamwork, creative collaboration, and stage confidence among band members.

Qualifications:

- Proven experience playing in bands and strong proficiency in at least one core instrument (Guitar, Bass, Drums, Keys, or Vocals) with a solid understanding of the others.
- Experience teaching, coaching, or mentoring youth (ages 8–19) in a musical setting.
- A strong grasp of songwriting, song arrangement, and live performance.
- Familiarity with the recording process is a major plus.
- High energy, patience, and a passion for helping young musicians grow.
- Must be able to reliably commute to Lynx Music in Toronto, ON.
