Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced General Manager to lead our upcoming state of the art Museum of Illusions in West Edmonton Mall. The general manager will lead a talented team in delivering exceptional service and operational excellence within our establishment. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in business operations .

The General

Manager of the Museum of Illusions (MOI) is a key leader responsible for overseeing the museum’s overall business performance and operations, and will be accountable for the museum's Profit and Loss performance, ensuring its financial success and operational excellence.

Responsibilities

- Organize and execute a successful commercial launch of the museum, including marketing, PR, social media, and sales partnerships.
- Hire, onboard and lead a team while fostering a high-performance culture within the museum team.
- Own the success of MOI: plan, coordinate, and manage all business functions to ensure revenue growth, profitability, and stable operations.
- Co-create, manage, and monitor annual and quarterly business plans.
- Lead, manage and coordinate marketing and sales functions with support from the local museum team and HQ.
- Act as MOI’s spokesperson to the community and media, building relationships with local organizations, educational institutions, and business clients.
- Supervise the day-to-day operation of the museum in line with MOI company policies and procedures, ensuring smooth workflow, and optimizing processes for maximum efficiency.
- Ensure the museum operates in compliance with all relevant regulations and laws.




- Keep stakeholders informed about the company's performance through regular reports.
- Regularly attend local community events, business meetings, and networking events to promote MOI.
- Serve as a brand ambassador for MOI in all interactions, effectively communicating the museum’s values and unique offerings.
- Maintain a high standard of product, services, and customer experience, ensuring visitor satisfaction and engagement.
- Ability to work evenings, weekends and stat holidays.

Experience

- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, management, marketing, or sales preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in business administration, operations, management, marketing and/or sales roles.
- Experience in a leadership role. Ability to lead a team of 20+ people.
- Strong financial management skills with experience in budgeting and P&L; responsibility.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to cultivate long term relationships with partners and the community.
- A hands-on marketing lead, with a special focus on social media marketing is a plus.
- Experience in the arts and entertainment industry is a plus.
- Proactive, organized, accountable, trustworthy.
- Robust interest in setting up a new business unit operation from scratch and transforming it into a successful business operation.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent Pay: $80,000.00-$90,000.00 per year

- Operations management: 5 years (required)
