Elbow River Casino is looking for an experienced and customer-focused Off-Track Betting (OTB) Cashier to join our team.

As an OTB Cashier, you will provide friendly and efficient service to our guests while processing horse-racing wagers, balancing your float, operating specialized betting terminals, and ensuring all transactions are completed accurately and in accordance with applicable rules and procedures.

The successful candidate will be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, have strong communication and customer service skills, and be able to work independently with limited supervision. Previous experience with horse racing and Off-Track Betting is preferred.

Key Responsibilities

- Provide exceptional customer service to guests.
- Process horse-racing bets using specialized betting terminals.
- Maintain and balance cash float accurately.
- Operate and perform basic troubleshooting of betting terminals and related equipment.
- Identify and report equipment malfunctions to the appropriate service technician.
- Prepare and maintain decoders and televisions used for horse-racing broadcasts.
- Monitor for and report suspicious activity to the Supervisor or Security.
- Identify and report suspected counterfeit bills.
- Follow all rules,



procedures and requirements established by the Canadian Pari-Mutuel Agency (CPMA).
- Organize and prioritize work effectively while managing multiple tasks.
- Communicate information clearly and professionally.
- Perform duties with limited supervision.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.

What We're Looking For

- Previous OTB, horse-racing or related betting experience is preferred.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Strong mathematical skills, including the ability to add and multiply numbers quickly and accurately.
- Ability to multitask and handle a high-volume workload.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to work independently and make sound decisions within established procedures.
- Basic computer skills.

Requirements

- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Must be able to successfully pass a criminal background check.
- Must be available to work in a fast-paced customer-service workplace.
