Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Optometric Assistant to join our eye care team. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional patient care, support the optometry team with clinical and administrative duties, and ensure a smooth patient experience. This role offers an opportunity to work in a fast-paced, patient-focused environment with a focus on vision health and customer service excellence. MUST BE AVAILABLE TO WORK FULL TIME - 5 DAYS A WEEK (some Saturdays).

Duties

- Greet patients warmly and assist them through check-in and check-out processes at the front desk
- Prepare patients for eye examinations by updating electronic medical records (EMR)
- Assist the optometrist during eye exams, including setting up equipment and providing patient instructions
- Conduct preliminary tests such as auto refractor, NCT, FDT, Optos, and other diagnostic procedures
- Manage appointment scheduling, reminders, and follow-up communications
- Handle retail sales of eyecare products
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of exam rooms, testing areas and front desk
- Support administrative tasks such as insurance verification, billing,



and data entry using electronic medical records systems

Requirements

- Prior experience in a medical office setting required, preferably within optometry or ophthalmology practices
- Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems
- Robust knowledge of medical terminology related to eye care and general health
- Excellent patient care skills with a friendly, professional demeanor
- Ability to manage front desk responsibilities efficiently while multitasking in a busy environment
- Knowledge of pediatric patient care is advantageous for working with children during eye exams
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail to accurately update patient records and process insurance claims

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $16.00-$19.00 per hour
