The Role

As an Optometric Assistant, you will be the face and engine of our clinic. This dual-focused role blends friendly front-desk administration with hands-on clinical support. You’ll be managing patient flow, operating specialized optical technology, and ensuring every patient feels supported throughout their visit.

Key Responsibilities

1. Patient Care & Clinical Support

- Pre-testing Patients: Conduct diagnostic tests using specialized clinical equipment prior to the doctor’s exam.
- Patient Intake: Gather accurate patient histories, primary concerns, and preliminary measurements.
- Patient Guidance:



Guide patients smoothly between the waiting room, pre-testing suite, and examination rooms.

2. Reception & Administrative Operations

- Patient Experience: Warmly greet patients upon arrival, check them in, and handle the check-out process.
- Scheduling: Book, reschedule, and confirm eye examinations via phone and electronic management software.
- Communication: Answer incoming calls, respond to general inquiries, and manage clinic correspondences.
- Administrative Upkeep: Maintain accurate patient records, handle payments, monitor inbound and outbound faxes, and keep the front-of-house operating smoothly.

What We’re Looking For

- People Skills: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a welcoming, patient-centered attitude.
- Tech-Savvy: Comfortable operating up-to-date diagnostic machinery and digital scheduling software.
- Organization: Strong multitasking abilities, attention to detail, and poise during busy clinic hours.
- Experience: Prior experience in an optometry, ophthalmology, or medical office setting is a strong asset, but we are happy to train the right candidate with a strong customer service background!
- Bilingual in French and English is necessary

Pay: $20.00-$22.00 per hour Expected hours: 35.0 per week
