PATIENT TRANSFER ATTENDANT

New Canadian Medical Transfer Inc. (NCMT) is looking for compassionate, dependable and professional individuals to join our team as Patient Transfer Attendants.

ABOUT THE POSITION

Our Patient Transfer Attendants accompany patients who require non-emergency transportation between hospitals, medical clinics, diagnostic facilities, long-term care facilities, retirement residences and their homes.

Our patients may be seniors, individuals with mobility limitations, or people living with physical or cognitive challenges. Some patients may require assistance with wheelchairs, walkers, stretchers or other mobility equipment.

This is much more than simply accompanying someone from one location to another.

Our attendants are often the person who spends the most time directly with the patient during their journey. How we treat people matters.

We are looking for genuine, caring individuals who understand the importance of treating every patient with patience, dignity, respect and compassion.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

As a Patient Transfer Attendant, your responsibilities may include:

- Assisting patients safely in and out of vehicles
- Assisting patients with wheelchairs, walkers and stretchers
- Accompanying patients to and from hospitals, clinics and healthcare facilities
- Providing a protected, comfortable and respectful experience throughout the trip
- Communicating professionally with patients, families, hospital staff and healthcare professionals
- Helping patients with their belongings and mobility needs
- Safely securing mobility equipment and assisting with patient transfers
- Completing required trip documentation
- Working as part of a two-person transportation crew
- Maintaining a professional appearance and representing NCMT positively
- Following NCMT safety, patient-care and operational procedures

We particularly welcome applicants who are currently studying or have completed a college or university program, especially in healthcare.

Students enrolled in programs such as Paramedicine, Nursing, Personal Support Worker, Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy and other healthcare-related programs may find this position especially valuable.

Multilingual candidates are an asset.

A clean driver's abstract is also an asset.

This is a hands-on healthcare experience—not a classroom.

It can be an excellent way to learn about healthcare while developing valuable skills in communication, patient interaction, teamwork, professionalism and compassionate care.

POSITION DETAILS

Positions Available: 5–7 Full-Time Positions

Hours: Approximately 35–44 hours per week

Scheduling: Weekly scheduling with varying start times throughout the day

Employment: Full-Time

Benefits: Full employee benefits package available after 6 months of employment

Because patient transportation operates throughout the day, applicants with open availability and flexibility will be given preference.
