Sturgeon Valley Athletic Club (SVAC) is seeking passionate, knowledgeable, and client-focused Personal Trainers to join our team.
At SVAC, Personal Trainers play a key role in helping members achieve their health and fitness goals through personalized coaching, education, accountability, and ongoing support. We are looking for professionals who are committed to delivering exceptional member experiences while contributing to a positive, inclusive, and collaborative fitness environment.
SVAC supports trainer success by providing opportunities to connect with members through new member introductions, club programming, community engagement, and marketing initiatives. Trainers are encouraged to build and grow their client base while fostering long-term relationships that support client retention and success.
Key Responsibilities
As a Personal Trainer with SVAC, you will:
- Design and deliver individualized exercise programs tailored to each client's goals, abilities, and lifestyle.
- Conduct one-on-one personal training sessions and small group training sessions (up to four participants).
- Provide ongoing motivation, education, coaching, and accountability to clients.
- Monitor client progress and make appropriate modifications to programs as goals and needs evolve.
- Maintain accurate client records and program documentation.
- Collaborate with other fitness and wellness professionals to enhance client outcomes.
- Maintain a professional, clean, safe, and welcoming training environment.
- Uphold all SVAC standards, policies, and member service expectations.
- Participate in club events, initiatives, and opportunities that support member engagement and community building.

Compensation Structure
Personal Trainers are compensated based on an established wage and commission structure that considers education, certifications, experience, and client volume.
Additional compensation opportunities include:
- Trainers who independently generate and secure their own clients may be eligible for a higher hourly compensation rate than trainers working with clients generated through club leads and front desk referrals.
- Enhanced compensation rates will be discussed during the interview and hiring process based on experience, certifications, and demonstrated business development efforts.
- Trainers are provided with up to one hour per week per active client to support:
- Program design and updates
- Client progress tracking
- Administrative follow-up
- Goal reviews
- Client communication and accountability support
SVAC is also pleased to offer access to in-house Continuing Education Credits (CECs), professional development opportunities, and networking events with industry leaders.
Required Qualifications
Candidates must possess at least one of the following recognized certifications:
- CSEP
- AFLCA/FA
- NASM
- Equivalent recognized fitness credential
In addition, candidates must hold:
- Current Personal Training Certification
Additional Requirements
- Current CPR Certification
- Current Standard First Aid (SFA) Certification
- Clear Criminal Record Check
- Solid interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work independently while contributing positively within a team environment
- Demonstrated passion for fitness, health, and helping clients succeed
- Commitment to professionalism, integrity, and ongoing professional development
Expected hours: 1.0 – 40.0 per week
