SORSYS Technologies designs and builds AI-powered vision inspection and sorting machines. Founded in 2016 and based in Brampton, we build our RT and G Series inspection machines and custom vision-guided automation, and we run in-house inspection and sorting services for manufacturers of automotive, fastener, die-cast, stamped, and defence components across Canada and the United States.We are a small, hands-on team. Our machines are built primarily on Beckhoff TwinCAT 3, and we are hiring a PLC Programmer with hands-on TwinCAT 3 experience who can start right away and keep them running.This role lives in two places. In the code, you will write, modify, and debug PLC programs. On the floor, you will find out why a machine stopped — logic, wiring, a sensor, a drive, or air — and get it back into production.You will support the machines in our Brampton facility, where we inspect and sort parts for our customers, and help commission and support machines at customer sites.

What You'll Do

- Diagnose and fix machine faults across PLC logic, wiring, sensors, pneumatics, servo drives, and industrial networks, get production running again quickly, then fix the root cause so it stays fixed.
- Write, modify, and debug PLC programs in Beckhoff TwinCAT 3, including code written by someone elseIntegrate PLC control with vision inspection systems, part feeders, servo motion, sort and reject mechanisms, and robots.
- Build and improve HMI screens, alarms, and diagnostics so operators can see what went wrong and respond faster.
- Read and trace electrical schematics, test circuits, and replace failed components safelySupport new machine builds through I/O checkout,



EtherCAT configuration, debugging, and factory acceptance testing
- Commission and troubleshoot machines at customer sites during installation and startupKeep programs backed up and under version control, and document every change.

What You Bring

- 3+ years of hands-on PLC programming and troubleshooting on industrial machinery, with a machine builder, integrator, or manufacturer
- Proven Beckhoff TwinCAT 3 experience on production machines, including EtherCAT I/O configuration and diagnostics
- Strong Structured Text (IEC 61131-3) skills; comfortable reading ladder logic
- A methodical troubleshooting approach: you work from electrical drawings, use a multimeter with confidence, and isolate faults step by step.
- Working knowledge of EtherNet/IP, Modbus TCP, and TCP/IPPractical experience with servo drives, VFDs, sensors, and pneumatic systemsSafe work habits around energized equipment, including lockout/tagout
- Explicit communication with operators, engineers, and customers, and the confidence to work independently when a machine is down
- College diploma or university degree in electrical, electronics, mechatronics, or automation or equivalent hands-on experience
- Legally eligible to work in Canada, with a valid passport and the ability to travel to the United States
- Able to start immediately or on short notice

Nice to Have

- Machine vision integration with Keyence, Cognex, or PC-based camera systems
- TwinCAT HMI, TwinCAT NC motion,



or TwinSAFE / safety PLC experience
- Robot integration with Epson, Fanuc, ABB, or Universal Robots
- PackML or state-machine based machine design
- Git or other version control for PLC projects
- High-speed inspection, sorting, or part-handling equipment (feeders, encoders, part tracking)
- Machine safety standards such as CSA Z432 and ISO 13849Python or C# for tools, testing, or data integrationIndustrial Electrician (442A) certificate

Schedule

Monday to Friday, day shift. Because this role supports production equipment, occasional evening or weekend work may be needed during breakdowns or commissioning.
