PRESIDENT

Job Location: Bedford, Nova Scotia

Reports to: Board of Directors

Chalice Canada is seeking an exceptional leader to serve as its next President. She/he will provide strategic, and organizational leadership to a well-established Roman Catholic Canadian charity dedicated to supporting children, families, and communities in developing countries.

The President will lead an organization entrusted with significant financial resources (annual revenue of $40 million), international aid programs, and most importantly a mission that directly affects the lives, and opportunities of children, families, and communities globally.

Opportunity Overview

Reporting to and working closely with the Board of Directors, the President will provide overall leadership and strategic direction for Chalice Canada. The President will lead the development and implementation of Chalice Canada's strategic priorities and ensure that the organization continues to strengthen its impact, sustainability, and reputation.

The successful candidate will be responsible for advancing the organization's mission while ensuring robust governance, financial stewardship, organizational effectiveness, and accountability to sponsors, donors, collaborators and the communities Chalice Canada serves.

Duties & Responsibilities

- Provide strategic leadership and translate Chalice Canada's mission, and vision into measurable organizational priorities.
- Lead and develop the organization's senior management team, to foster a highperforming, collaborative organizational culture.
- Ensure responsible stewardship of approximately $40 million in annual revenues, and effective deployment of resources toward the organization's mission.
- Maintain the highest standards of financial management, accountability, transparency, and organizational governance.




- Strengthen relationships with sponsors, donors, and other supporters to help position Chalice Canada for sustainable fundraising and sponsorship growth.
- Establish, sustain, and strengthen relationships with international Roman Catholic religious orders, dioceses, parishes, and lay associations.
- Establish and oversee effective sponsor site collaborations, with the Senior International Manager, and Regional Managers.
- Work effectively with the Board of Directors, providing the information, analysis, and advice required for sound governance and strategic decision-making.
- Represent Chalice Canada with donors, partners, governments, communities, and other stakeholders.
- Identify emerging opportunities, risks, and innovations that can strengthen Chalice Canada's effectiveness and long-term impact.

Qualifications & Competencies

Chalice Canada is seeking an accomplished executive who combines active living faith, strong organizational leadership with a genuine commitment to international development and service to children, families and communities.

The successful candidate must:

1. be a practicing Roman Catholic.
2. have an Advanced degree (Masters or equivalent) in Nonprofit Management, International Relations, Business, Public Administration or a relevant discipline, but an undergraduate degree with significant experience will be considered.
3. have experience with up-to-date systems platforms and technologies.





The language requirements are as follows:

- Fluency in English. French and Spanish Fluency (assets).

- Experience working effectively with a Board of Directors.
- Ability to lead, motivate, and develop strong professional teams of 50+ employees.

- Adaptability and resilience.
- Significant senior executive or organizational leadership experience.Experience leading an organization or substantial business unit with significant financial and operational responsibilities.
- Strategic planning and organizational management capabilities.
- Strong financial literacy and experience overseeing significant budgets and resources.
- Fundraising, donor relations, philanthropy, or stakeholder development experience.
- Knowledge of international development, humanitarian assistance, or charitable organizations.
- Experience working across countries, cultures, and organizational partnerships.
- Experience working with Roman Catholic Religious Orders, parishes, dioceses, NGOs, governments and the private sector.
- Familiar with Anti-corruption controls, financial controls in developing countries and safeguarding policies.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to represent the organization publicly.
- Integrity, sound judgment and commitment to transparency and accountability.
- Active participant in a Canadian Catholic parish and or diocese.
