Position: Product Design Lead Mechanical Lead

Rate: $43-46 on W2

Job Summary:

Design and develop high-speed interconnect products for telecom, networking, datacenter, server, storage, and industrial applications. The role spans the complete product lifecycle from concept and validation to production launch and continuous improvement.

Position Summary

Deliver reliable, manufacturable mechanical designs that meet electrical performance, quality, cost, and industry requirements while collaborating with engineering, manufacturing, suppliers, customers, and commercial teams.

Key Responsibilities

Translate industry and customer needs into product requirements and mechanical designs.

Collaborate with Signal Integrity and Mechanical Integrity teams to meet electrical, reliability, and specification requirements.

Perform tolerance stack-up analysis and support material and coating selection.

Drive design for manufacturability, prototyping, tooling, qualification, and high-volume production readiness.

Develop test plans and technical documentation and support quality investigations and continuous improvement.

Provide technical support to customers, product marketing, and sales.

Support cost reduction through material alternatives and manufacturing-efficiency improvements.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.

Mandatory

Proficiency in SolidWorks or Creo, GD&T;, tolerance analysis, material selection, and FEA tools.





7+ years of experience in Mechanical Connector Design.

Knowledge of signal-integrity considerations, copper alloys, engineering plastics, stamping, molding, and plating.

Experience in New Product Development (NPD/NPI) from concept through mass production.

Basic electrical engineering knowledge and proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Preferred

Experience with industry-standard connector designs (USB, PCIe, Ethernet, QSFP, SFP, DDR, Automotive, IEC, EIA) and exposure to high-speed connectors, RF packaging, SI/PI, FEA, Telecom/Networking domains, and PLM systems.
