Our banking client is seeking a Production Support Specialist (5+ years) to support client connectivity and payments production services using Unix/Linux, SQL, and observability tooling
Join a Client Connectivity team supporting secure and reliable production services within a regulated banking environment. This role focuses on L1/L2 production support, incident management, troubleshooting, and operational support for web technologies and payments-related systems in an on-premises workplace. The position includes a mix of high-volume alert/ticket handling and deeper root-cause analysis across distributed systems and infrastructure dependencies.
Candidates will work closely with engineering, infrastructure, network, and vendor teams supporting critical production operations.
Contract, Toronto, Hybrid, 2 days a week
Must Haves
- 5+ years in Production Support within banking technology or regulated environments
- Hands‑on Unix/Linux, SQL, log analysis, and troubleshooting in distributed systems
- Production support for Web Technologies, networking, HTTP, web security, and load balancing
- Hands‑on Splunk, AppDynamics,
Dynatrace, Grafana, or equivalent observability tooling
- Degree or diploma in a related field
Nice to Have
- Payments domain knowledge including connectivity channels, payment processing concepts, and message flows
- Exposure to Oracle, MQ, IBM WebSphere, Open Systems, or Java/J2EE platforms
- Public cloud experience
- ITIL certification
- Hands‑on exposure to Copilot or Claude
Responsibilities
- Monitor and support production services and respond to incidents and service requests within SLAs
- Perform incident triage using logs, monitoring tools, and data checks to identify likely causes and implement fixes
- Coordinate recovery activities with engineering, infrastructure, network, and vendor teams
- Contribute to root cause analysis and post‑incident reviews to prevent recurrence
- Create and maintain runbooks, knowledge articles, and operational checklists
- Participate in change and release activities including patching, DR tests, and role swaps
- Participate in weekend and on‑call support rotations aligned to service coverage requirements
