Overview

We are seeking enthusiastic and dedicated Support Staff to join our dynamic team at our adult day program. This role offers an exciting chance to work with adults with developmental disabilities fostering a safe, engaging, and supportive environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, enjoy fostering a sense of community, and have a passion for helping to support others.

Previous experience in supervising, teaching, or working with individuals with developmental disabilities is highly valued. As a Program Support Staff, you will play a vital role in creating memorable experiences while ensuring safety and promoting positive development among participants.

Responsibilities

- Supervise and engage groups of adults in various activities, including arts and crafts, outdoor adventures, and team-building exercises, group meetings and more
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all participants by monitoring activities and enforcing rules
- Lead by example in demonstrating positive behavior, teamwork, and respect




- Assist with planning and organizing daily schedules and special events
- Communicate effectively with participants, parents, and staff to provide updates and address concerns
- Support the development of participants’ social skills through mentorship and guidance
- Collect data on participation and progress for program evaluation purposes
- Maintain a clean and organized activity area to ensure safety standards are met
- Support administrative tasks such as registration, attendance tracking, and basic record keeping

Experience

- Supervising experience supporting individuals with developmental disabilities preferred
- Demonstrated leadership qualities with the ability to motivate and inspire others
- Teaching background can enhance activity facilitation and engagement
