B.J. Normand Ltd. is looking for a Project Manager / Estimator to join our team. We are looking for someone who is eager to gain more experience in drywall, acoustic ceilings, office fit-ups and becoming a key member of our team.

Position Responsibilities and Duties:

- Liaise, consult and communicate with General Contractors, Suppliers, Architects, Engineers and Owners
- Preparing complete on-screen take-offs and cost estimates of materials, labor and equipment
- Co-coordinating price packages of specifications with suppliers, sub-contractors, and architects
- Review project plans, requirements, specifications and costs
- Coordinate price packages with suppliers, sub-contractors, owners, designers and architects regarding tenders.
- Liaise, consult and communicate with engineers, architects, owners, contractors, suppliers and sub-contractors
- Negotiating terms of agreement/ contract / schedule

- Participate in tender review
- Complete submittals and cost savings
- Conduct material and equipment purchasing for secured jobs
- Organize job start up meeting with site super/ G.C. to review scope of work
- Organize man-power with site super, order materials, equipment, engineering if required
- Attend job-site weekly meetings
- Review the daily progress of the project and ensure it is financially on track and on schedule




- Analyze the project and mitigate risk
- Price change orders and understand the impact on the scope
- Ensure accounting is in line with project
- Support Foreman throughout the duration of the project and maintain quality control
- Complete all job close out procedures

Requirements

- Min 5 years of construction project management experience
- Must have min 3 year experience in the drywall industry
- Must understand construction costs to be able to price change orders
- Ability to price own small projects
- Self-motivated individual able to work with deadlines.
- College Diploma or University Degree (preferred)
- Bilingual is an asset (French)
- Candidate must be proficient using MS applications.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Experience with Onscreen/Quick bid as an asset.
- Must have a vehicle for use during the day.
