Al-Manarat Heights Islamic School is an established Islamic school in Mississauga, Ontario, offering Montessori, elementary, middle, high school and Hifz programs. About the role

We are seeking a dedicated full-time Qur’an and Tajweed Teacher for Grades 1–8 who can inspire students to recite accurately, understand meaningfully, and develop a lasting connection with the Qur’an.

Sound understanding of Qur’anic meanings is essential, together with strong recitation and Tajweed skills. The successful candidate will make lessons accessible to children of different ages and abilities while helping them practise Islamic manners and age-appropriate Sunnah habits.

Key responsibilities

- Teach Qur’an reading with correct makharij, pronunciation, fluency, and Tajweed.
- Guide students in memorizing and regularly revising selected surahs.
- Teach foundational Qur’anic vocabulary, meanings, and lessons using reliable Islamic sources.
- Help students apply Qur’anic teachings, Islamic manners, and Sunnah practices in daily life.
- Prepare structured, engaging lessons appropriate for Grades 1–8.
- Adapt teaching to support beginners and challenge more advanced students.
- Assess and document progress in recitation, memorization,



Tajweed, and understanding.
- Maintain a caring, respectful, and well-managed classroom.
- Communicate with parents and collaborate with teachers and school leadership.

Qualifications and requirements
- Strong proficiency in Qur’an recitation and practical application of Tajweed rules.
- Sound understanding of Qur’anic meanings and the ability to explain them clearly and accurately to children.
- Sufficient Qur’anic Arabic knowledge to teach vocabulary and support comprehension.
- Relevant training in Qur’an, Tajweed, Arabic, or Islamic studies.
- Experience teaching children, preferably in elementary or middle school.
- Strong lesson planning, classroom management, and communication skills.
- A patient, encouraging approach and commitment to student well-being.
- Availability to work full-time, in person, in Mississauga.
- Ability to meet applicable school safeguarding and background-check requirements.

Preferred qualifications: Ijazah in Qur’an recitation, Hifz qualification, or formal Islamic studies certification.

Pay: From $2,800.00 per month
