Are you someone who brings warmth, professionalism, and organization to every interaction? As the first point of contact for Peerless Trout First Nation (PTFN), the Receptionist plays an important role in creating a professional and friendly environment for staff, community members, and visitors alike.
We are looking for someone who is approachable, reliable, and detail-oriented, with a solid ability to multitask in a busy office setting. From answering calls and greeting guests to assisting with mail, filing, and administrative tasks, this role is essential to keeping daily operations running smoothly. If you take pride in being helpful, organized, and a positive presence in the workplace, this 15-month term position offers a great opportunity to support the PTFN administration team and make a meaningful difference every day.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Serve as the first point of contact for visitors and callers, providing professional and welcoming reception services.
- Answer incoming phone calls, direct calls to appropriate staff, and take accurate messages when needed.
- Greet and assist community members, guests, and clients in a respectful and friendly manner.
- Receive, sort, and distribute incoming mail, courier packages, and other deliveries.
- Maintain a tracking system for all incoming and outgoing mail and courier items.
- Provide general administrative support including data entry, filing, photocopying, and document preparation.
- Maintain the front desk and common areas in a clean and organized state.
- Assist with scheduling and coordination of meetings or appointments as needed.
- Support various departments with administrative tasks as requested by the Office Manager.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal – with the ability to listen actively and engage respectfully with community members in person, online, and over the phone.
- Strong knowledge of data entry, filing systems, and document management.
- Ensures a professional and courteous customer service experience every time.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel; highly organized and detail oriented.
- Ability to multitask, take initiative, and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Must be reliable and be able to arrive at work on time for every shift.
- Friendly, mature, and approachable with a positive attitude.
- Demonstrates a professional image and a strong commitment to customer service.
- Ability to speak Cree is considered an asset.
- Must submit a current clear RCMP Criminal Record Check.
- Must provide a copy of Class 5 driver’s license and drivers abstract.
