- Assists in the development, implementation, coordination and evaluation of diverse, meaningful and resident-centred recreation and social activities program that reflects the individual interests, abilities, preferences, cultural backgrounds, life experiences and goals of residents.

- Collaborates with the interdisciplinary team to ensure recreation and social programming is integrated into each resident’s plan of care and is consistent with the resident’s assessed needs, strengths, goals and preferences.

- Participates in resident assessments, care planning, providing relevant information regarding residents’ recreational, social, emotional, cognitive and psychosocial needs.

- Contributes to the ongoing evaluation and improvement of recreation and social activities, using resident feedback, participation, outcomes and evidence-informed practices to enhance programming.

Qualifications

- Post-secondary diploma,



degree in Recreation and Leisure Studies, Therapeutic Recreation, Kinesiology, Gerontology or another related field from an Ontario post-secondary institution, or an equivalent credential from another jurisdiction.

- Previous experience working with older adults, preferably in a long-term care or health care setting.

- Knowledge and understanding of resident-centred care, the Residents’ Bill of Rights, the Fixing Long-Term Care Act, 2021 and applicable regulations is an asset.

- Solid communication, organization, documentation and interpersonal skills.

- Demonstrated ability to work effectively as a member of an interdisciplinary team.

Pay: From $21.93 per hour
