This role is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working outdoors, helping people, and making a real difference in their community. Based at the Kaslo and Marblehead (Meadow Creek) Transfer Stations, you would help keep recyclable materials out of landfills, educate the public, and support the RDCK’s goal of moving toward Zero Waste.

This is a part time position with an average starting rate of $23.04 per hour. Applicants should be available to work a varied work schedule that includes weekend shifts. This posting, along with a detailed and application form can be found on our website at www.rdck.ca.

Recycling & Waste Educators are responsible for screening recycling material or waste at recycling facilities and sites to ensure only acceptable material is accepted, and to redirect unacceptable materials.



Recycling & Waste Educators also maintain the cleanliness of sites and perform basic site maintenance.

Required Qualifications

- Completion of High School Diploma or acceptable equivalent
- One year experience in a customer service position, with prior experience enforcing company policy and standards
- Experience and ability to work outdoors
- Experience and ability to work alone and/or in remote locations
- Experience with public education would be considered an asset
- Standard First Aid, Basic CPR with AED or a willingness to obtain
- WHMIS certification or a willingness to obtain
- Valid BC Drivers License

Pay: $23.04 per hour Expected hours: 5.0 – 23.0 per week
