Key Roles & Responsibilities:

- Provide engaging, interactive one-on-one and group setting care to toddler, preschool, kindergarten, and/or school-age children in a positive, professional, and inclusive manner.
- Ensure the highest standards of safety, health, and well-being of the children at all times, while in care.
- Assist with program creation and development that is age-appropriate and designed to stimulate and promote the physical, emotional, social, and cognitive development of the child (ren) – both individually and as a group.
- Observe, assess, and report child’s progress to the management team as needed – including developmental and behavioral issues or concerns.
- Assist with and participate in the teams’ shared responsibilities within and beyond the room.
- Maintain daily effective communication with children, parents, and staff, both verbally and written.
- Provide developmentally appropriate and acceptable behaviour modification techniques for the children.
- Supervision and evaluation of intern students from participating in school and community college programs.
- Provide a variety of educational resources/ideas to parents, students,



and staff, as requested.
- Other duties as assigned.

Candidate Qualifications: A degree/diploma in Early Childhood Education with proof of registration to the College of ECE’s

2+ years of experience working with children in group settings

- Must have a solid understanding of and be able to adhere to the guidelines of the Child Care Early Years Act, City of Toronto & Toronto Public Health, as well as a clear understanding of the Serious Occurrence guidelines
- Able to work at the children’s level, bend and lift up to 25 lbs.; and handle bodily fluids.
- Working knowledge of Emergent Curriculum ELF

Valid First Aid certificate to include Child CPR (C) Vulnerable Sector Police/Criminal Reference Check

Vaccinations, which must include up-to-date TB, Covid-19 (2 doses, at minimum)

Pay: $25.00-$26.00 per hour

Expected hours: 30.0 per week
