Compass Rose Care is a "boots-on-the-ground", registered nurse-led private home care company serving Calgary and the surrounding area. We are currently hiring Registered Health Care Aides and/or LPNs for a palliative assignment located west of Calgary (Priddis/Millarville area)

- Has the skills and experience to work with complex physical and emotional care needs
- Experience with palliative care,
- Can build a respectful, professional relationship with a client and their family
- Reads clinical situations well and knows when something has changed
- Is self-directed and does not need constant prompting to stay on task
- Communicates clearly and professionally with team members and supervisors
- Is highly motivated and brings a positive, grounded presence to the work
- Is flexible with routines and can adapt when things shift
- Is willing and able to drive regularly as needed

Qualifications Required

- Health Care Aide Certificate or Practical Nurse diploma recognized in Alberta and obtained at a Canadian college, with active registration with the CLHA
- Current Basic Life Support for Health Care Providers (BLS-HCP) certification,



Heart and Stroke Foundation or Canadian Red Cross; First Aid certification in addition is preferred
- Valid Alberta Class 5 Driver’s Licence, transparent 3-year driver’s abstract, and reliable vehicle with $2M liability insurance
- Medication Assistance Certification or equivalent verified experience
- Cell phone with active data plan
- Comfort with mobile technology and electronic documentation
- Physical ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 lbs
- Strong English communication skills, written and spoken
- Up-to-date immunizations, including COVID-19

Preferred

- Experience with palliative care, pressure wound care
- 1+ year in home care, assisted living, or long-term care
- Familiarity with electronic health record platforms

Compensation HCA - $22.00 to $25.00 per hour; LPN - $26.00 to $31.00 based on experience and qualifications.

Security Requirements

All candidates must provide a current Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Search prior to their start date. You will be expected to disclose any new charges or convictions throughout your employment.
