Job Title: Respite Program Lead

Reports To: Clinical Manager

Position Type: Full-Time (7:00am-3:00pm; flexible hours, evenings and some weekends may be required)

Position location: Kingston with occasional travel to Belleville

Position Overview The Respite Program Lead plays a key role in supporting the delivery of high-quality respite services to children and families. Working under the supervision of a Registered Behaviour Analyst, the Respite Program Lead oversees scheduling, staff mentorship, and communication with families and community partners. This position ensures smooth day-to-day operations of the respite program, provides mentorship to staff, and supports the integration of behavioural strategies to promote consistency and quality of care.

The Respite Program

Lead may also provide support to clinical operations of ABA services as needed.

Key Responsibilities

- Scheduling & Coordination
- Develop, manage, and maintain respite staff schedules.
- Track and update staff availability to ensure program coverage.
- Coordinate with families to schedule respite sessions based on needs and staff availability.
- Staff Support & Mentorship
- Provide guidance and mentorship to respite staff to promote best practices and professional growth.
- Liaise with staff regarding behavioural support strategies, under the direction of the supervising RBA.
- Assist in onboarding and training new respite staff.
- Family & Program Communication
- Serve as a point of contact for families regarding respite scheduling and program details.




- Build and maintain positive relationships with families and community partners to ensure a supportive and collaborative service environment.
- Recruitment & Interviewing
- Participate in the recruitment and interviewing process for new respite staff.
- Support hiring decisions in collaboration with program leadership.
- Program Oversight & Administration
- Track attendance, cancellations, and staff coverage.
- Provide feedback to the RBA on staff performance, family satisfaction, and program needs.
- Serve as on-call support during designated weekends to address urgent scheduling or staffing needs.

Qualifications

- Experience delivering in respite services.
- Experience implementing behavioural strategies.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Strong ability to respond to competing priorities and ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with both families and staff.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with supervisors and team members.
- Flexibility to work occasional evenings, weekends, and provide on-call support as scheduled.
- Experience mentoring staff or students is considered an asset.
- Required to have a personal vehicle for business-related travel with appropriate insurance coverage to transport clients as needed.

Salary: Commensurate with skills and experience. Pay: $26.00-$32.00 per hour

Expected hours: 37.5 per week
