Kamloops Home Hardware Building Centre is looking for an experienced Lumber & Building Materials Specialist to join our team. This is a hands-on position for someone who understands building materials, enjoys helping people solve practical problems and can be trusted to work with a high degree of independence.

You will work with contractors, experienced tradespeople and homeowners—helping them select the right materials, prepare their orders and keep their projects moving.

What you’ll do

- Help customers identify and select lumber and building materials for their projects
- Provide accurate, practical information about product applications and alternatives
- Pick, prepare and verify customer and contractor orders
- Load materials safely by hand and with yard equipment
- Receive, organize and maintain lumber and building-material inventory
- Monitor product condition, storage and presentation
- Work closely with contractor sales, inventory and yard teams
- Help maintain a safe, organized and efficient work environment

What you’ll bring We are looking for someone with previous experience in lumber, building materials, construction supply or a closely related environment.

You should also have

- Working knowledge of lumber types, dimensions, grades and common applications
- Confidence assisting both contractors and homeowners
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- The ability to work independently while remaining connected to the wider team
- A dependable, organized and safety-minded approach
- The physical ability to perform active work, including safely lifting and moving heavy materials
- Comfort working outdoors in changing weather
- Experience operating forklifts or loaders—or the ability to learn through training and evaluation

Schedule This is a full-time,



permanent and year-round position. Applicants must be consistently available to work weekends.

Pay: $19.00-$23.00 per hour
