Martin School Transit is a family owned and operated school bus company. We have been serving the Owen Sound and Meaford area since the start of school bus service in the1960's, when the school boards of the day began shutting down one room school houses and started bussing students to larger schools.

Martin's has a fleet of roughly 50 vehicles- which is the perfect size to ensure we focus on our drivers and help them with any issues that might arise. Our drivers are an even split between women and men, with the average age being 60 years old, some of whom have been professional drivers for decades. The average driver retention period for Martins is 6 years, which is a very good number for the school bus industry.

School buses are all we do- and we do it well!

Martin's is located in Springmount, just west of Owen Sound. We recently moved into our brand new building and look forward to welcoming perspective drivers to see what Martin's has to offer.

The average age of our buses is 6 years, which is again a very positive number in the school bus industry. Our large school buses are all international IC buses, keeping things consistent for our drivers.

The T-4 slip for a school bus route driver is between $15,000 to $20,000 for 187 school days. This number varies based on the route length and can be supplemented by doing charter work.



This works well for semi- retired people looking for that extra income. School bus drivers get two weeks off at Christmas, one week off in March and the entire months of July and August off as well.

We are looking to hire drivers with the following minimum requirements:

- Good communication skills
- at least 21 years of age
- Valid drivers license for at least one year
- Undergo and pass ministry prescribed medical examination and background checks
