About the RoleWe are looking for a Senior Accountant to run BorderPass's day-to-day accounting operations and support our monthly close, reporting, and compliance processes. The ideal candidate has 3-5 years of accounting experience, is working toward or holds a professional accounting designation (CPA, CA, or equivalent), and is comfortable managing close and reconciliations independently.

This role reports to our Head of Operations, who oversees the finance function, and will take on increasing ownership of close, budgeting support, and controls as the company continues to scale internationally.

You will collaborate closely with the leadership team and operations, bringing accuracy and consistency to our day-to-day financial processes while supporting broader financial planning and reporting.

What You'll Do

- Execute the monthly close process: reconciliations, journal entries, accruals, and reporting on a consistent, documented timeline
- Maintain and follow standard operating procedures for close, AP/AR, and other core finance workflows




- Support the preparation of budgets and forecasts, and help track variance for the leadership team
- Help implement and maintain financial controls appropriate for a scaling, multi-jurisdiction company
- Apply IFRS and US GAAP accounting practices as relevant to our international operations
- Assist with ad hoc financial analysis and reporting for the Head of Operations and leadership team
- Support relationships with external accountants, auditors, and tax advisors as needed

What We're Looking For
- 3-5 years of accounting experience
- Working toward or holding a professional accounting designation (CPA, CA, or equivalent)
- Experience running monthly close and reconciliations independently
- Working knowledge of IFRS and US GAAP, or robust willingness to learn both
- Highly organized and detail-oriented, comfortable managing multiple workflows
- Strong communication skills — able to explain financial detail clearly to non-finance colleagues
- Comfort using AI tools (e.g., Claude) to build financial dashboards or reporting tools is a plus
