Senior JIVS Developer – SAP Data Archiving

About the Role

Alteris Consulting is seeking an experienced Senior JIVS Developer – SAP Data Archiving to support the design, development, and delivery of enterprise data-archiving solutions across large-scale SAP transformation and legacy-system decommissioning initiatives.

This role requires strong expertise in the JIVS Information Management Platform (JIVS IMP ) , SAP data structures, data extraction, transformation, reconciliation, and information governance, with the ability to preserve secure and auditable access to historical business information as legacy SAP environments are retired.

You will work closely with SAP functional teams, data architects, infrastructure, cybersecurity, records management, legal and compliance teams, business stakeholders, and SAP S/4HANA transformation teams.

Key Responsibilities

- Design, configure, develop, and support SAP data-archiving solutions using JIVS IMP.
- Lead the extraction, transformation, migration, and validation of structured and unstructured data from SAP ECC and other legacy applications.
- Analyze SAP tables, relationships, business objects, transactions, attachments, and historical reporting requirements.
- Develop data-extraction, transformation, mapping, validation, and archive-loading processes.
- Configure JIVS data structures, views, reports, search capabilities, security roles, and retention rules.
- Preserve business context and relationships between archived SAP records.
- Reconstruct historical transactions such as purchase orders, work orders, invoices, financial documents, customer records, asset records, and maintenance history.
- Design and execute reconciliation controls to validate the completeness and accuracy of archived information.
- Perform record-count, control-total, financial-balance, and document-level reconciliation.
- Support migration of SAP documents and attachments from repositories such as OpenText, SAP Content Server, and ArchiveLink.
- Develop and support integrations between JIVS and enterprise identity, reporting, security, and records-management platforms.
- Implement role-based access controls for sensitive financial, employee, customer, and operational information.
- Configure retention, legal-hold, disposition, and deletion requirements with Legal, Privacy, Compliance, and Records Management teams.




- Support audit inquiries, regulatory reporting, litigation discovery, and historical-data retrieval.
- Troubleshoot extraction, transformation, performance, reconciliation, and data-access issues.
- Prepare technical designs, data mappings, configuration documents, test scripts, operating procedures, and support documentation.
- Support unit testing, SIT, UAT, performance testing, and production deployment.
- Participate in cutover planning, mock conversions, production migrations, stabilization, and operational handover.
- Support controlled retirement of legacy SAP environments after archive completeness and accessibility have been confirmed.
- Provide knowledge transfer and technical guidance to internal support and data-management teams.

What We’re Looking For

- 5+ years of experience in SAP data management, data migration, archiving, or legacy-system retirement.
- Hands-on implementation, configuration, or development experience with JIVS IMP .
- Strong understanding of SAP ECC data structures, tables, relationships, and business objects.
- Experience working with SAP functional data across one or more areas, including:
- Finance and Controlling (FI/CO)
- Materials Management and Procurement (MM)
- Plant Maintenance / Enterprise Asset Management (PM/EAM)
- Sales and Distribution (SD)
- Human Capital Management (HCM)
- Project Systems (PS)
- Customer service or utility-industry solutions
- Experience extracting information from SAP databases, application tables, archives, and document repositories.
- Robust SQL skills and experience with relational databases.
- Experience with data mapping, transformation, reconciliation, validation, and data-quality controls.
- Knowledge of SAP Archive Development Kit, ArchiveLink, SAP ILM, or similar archiving technologies.
- Understanding of records retention, privacy, security, legal hold, and defensible deletion requirements.
- Experience supporting SAP S/4HANA or complex enterprise transformation programs.




- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, documentation, stakeholder-management, and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience with ABAP development or SAP technical analysis.
- Experience archiving data from multiple SAP and non-SAP applications.
- Knowledge of SAP S/4HANA migration and selective data-transition strategies.
- Experience with OpenText, SAP Content Server, document-management platforms, or enterprise content repositories.
- Familiarity with Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, SAP HANA, or other enterprise databases.
- Experience with data-profiling, ETL, reporting, and reconciliation tools.
- Understanding of Canadian privacy, financial-record, utility, or regulated-industry retention requirements.
- Experience in energy, utilities, infrastructure, government, banking, or other regulated sectors.
- Relevant SAP, database, cloud, data-management, or JIVS certifications.
