Camp Kahuna is looking for experienced, energetic and enthusiastic camp staff to join our team as Senior Leaders for the upcoming summer season JULY & AUGUST 2027

This position is designed for people who already know camp. If you have previous experience working at a summer camp, love creating memorable experiences for kids and are ready to take on a leadership role within a agile camp environment, we would love to hear from you.

About Camp Kahuna

Camp Kahuna is an outdoor summer camp located on a beautiful 65-acre property along the Niagara Escarpment in Burlington, Ontario.

Our days are active, energetic and outdoors. Campers swim, explore the creek, hike trails, play large group games, take part in special events, build friendships and experience everything that makes summer camp memorable.

At the centre of it all are our staff.

Our Senior Leaders help create the energy, relationships and sense of belonging that make Camp Kahuna special.

The Role

Senior Leaders are responsible for leading and supervising a group of campers throughout the camp day while helping create a safe, positive, inclusive and FUN camp experience.

This is a hands-on position. You won't be standing on the sidelines. You'll be playing the games, leading activities, getting into the creek, cheering campers on, helping kids through challenges and bringing energy to the camp day.

Senior Leaders are also expected to be strong role models for both campers and younger staff members.

Responsibilities include:

- Leading and supervising a group of campers throughout the day




- Building positive relationships with campers and helping every child feel included
- Leading games, activities, challenges and camp traditions with enthusiasm
- Participating fully in swimming, creek activities, outdoor adventures and camp-wide events
- Supporting campers who may be nervous, homesick, frustrated or having difficulty joining the group
- Working closely with other leaders and members of the camp leadership team
- Maintaining strong standards for camper safety and supervision
- Helping manage group dynamics and camper behaviour in a positive and respectful way
- Bringing energy, creativity and enthusiasm to each camp day
- Acting as a positive role model and mentor for younger staff
- Assisting with camp set-up, clean-up and other responsibilities as needed

Who We're Looking For We are specifically looking for applicants with previous summer camp experience who are ready to step into a senior leadership position.

Successful applicants will be:

- At least 18 years old
- Experienced working at a summer camp in a counsellor, leader or similar role
- Confident leading groups of children and youth
- Energetic, outgoing and comfortable getting involved
- Responsible, dependable and mature




- Positive and encouraging with campers
- Strong communicators and team players
- Comfortable working outdoors for the majority of the day
- Able to take initiative and problem-solve when situations change
- Willing to get wet, muddy and fully involved in camp life!

Previous experience working with children in recreation, education, coaching or youth leadership is also considered an asset. What We're not looking for;

This isn't a job where you simply supervise from the sidelines.

Our Senior Leaders are expected to lead from the front. We want staff who will learn campers' names, start the games, sing the songs, jump in the pool, explore the creek, dress up for special events and help make camp something kids can't wait to come back to.
