Senior Nuclear Commissioning Consultant

Location: Pickering, ON / OPG 889

Work Arrangement: Hybrid / Site-Based, depending on project and SME requirements

Contract Duration: Immediate Start – December 2026, with potential extension into February 2027

Clearance: Active OPG Security Clearance – Mandatory

Position Overview

Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Commissioning Consultant to support commissioning activities within a nuclear station environment in Pickering, Ontario.

The successful candidate will bring 15+ years of experience within the nuclear industry, with strong hands‑on commissioning expertise and a demonstrated understanding of working within an operating nuclear facility.

This role will support commissioning activities associated with station systems and equipment, with particular focus on HVAC/BAS, fire detection, electrical and mechanical tie‑ins.

Key Responsibilities

- Provide senior-level commissioning expertise and technical support within a nuclear station environment.
- Support commissioning activities related to:
- HVAC and Building Automation Systems (BAS)
- Fire Detection Systems
- Electrical tie‑ins to station systems
- Mechanical tie‑ins to station systems

- Develop, review and execute commissioning plans, procedures, test documentation and related deliverables.
- Coordinate commissioning activities with engineering, construction, operations, maintenance and other project stakeholders.
- Provide technical guidance and troubleshooting during commissioning and system turnover.
- Support identification,



investigation and resolution of commissioning issues and deficiencies.
- Ensure commissioning activities are completed in accordance with applicable nuclear procedures, quality requirements and safety standards.
- Work effectively with station personnel, contractors and project teams.
- Provide technical knowledge and mentorship as required.

Qualifications & Experience

- 15+ years of experience in the nuclear industry.
- Active OPG Security Clearance – Mandatory. Candidates without current OPG clearance will not be considered.
- Significant experience supporting commissioning activities within a nuclear generating station.
- Strong technical experience with one or more of the following:
- HVAC / BAS
- Fire detection systems
- Electrical systems and station tie‑ins
- Mechanical systems and station tie‑ins

- Strong understanding of nuclear station processes, procedures and work practices.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a highly regulated nuclear workplace.
- Building commissioning experience is considered a significant asset.
- Strong communication, coordination and problem‑solving skills.
- Ability to work independently as a senior technical SME while collaborating with multidisciplinary project teams.
