Position Overview

The Senior Pricing Analyst provides analytical and pricing support to lawyers, Business Development, Finance and other stakeholders across the Firm. The role supports client proposals, alternative fee arrangements, profitability reviews and pricing initiatives by analyzing financial and matter data, developing pricing models reporting, and providing recommendations that support informed decision-making.

Key Accountabilities

Pricing and Proposals

- Collaborate with Business Development, practice leads, and client relationship partners on pricing for RFPs, competitive proposals, and client fee discussions.Analyze historical matter data, realization rates, and profitability information to support pricing recommendations and decision-making.
- Develop alternative fee arrangements, including fixed fees, phased fees, fee caps, success fees, and blended-rate structures.
- Create and maintain pricing models, budgeting tools, templates, and supporting materials to facilitate the preparation and review of proposals and fee arrangements.
- Participate in client pricing auctions and competitive bidding processes, independently or in partnership with Business Development, as required.

Profitability Reporting and Client Arrangements

- Maintain the Firm’s profitability reporting and work closely with Financial Analysts to improve reporting capabilities and analytical insights.
- Participate in post-matter reviews with key stakeholders and provide qualitative and quantitative analysis of file profitability.
- Prepare client-facing reporting related to discounts, rebates, credits, and other negotiated financial arrangements.
- Monitor special client arrangements and support renewal discussions by providing timely analysis, recommendations, and reporting.

Pricing Administration and Team Support

- Work with the Pricing Specialist and Pricing Coordinator to support rate administration activities and maintain the integrity of the Firm’s billing arrangements database.
- Prepare internal reports and analyses and respond to requests for financial and pricing information.
- Review and validate reports prepared by Financial Analysts and provide guidance on the interpretation and application of results.
- Provide back-up support to the Senior Manager, Pricing and the Pricing Specialist, as required.

Continuous Improvement

- Work with Sr. Manager,



Pricing to review the effectiveness of pricing strategies by identifying trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement and recommending practical solutions.
- Monitor legal market developments, competitor pricing approaches, and client procurement practices
- Assist in the development and delivery of pricing-related education and training for lawyers and Business Services professionals.
- Participate in departmental projects, process improvement initiatives, and other Firm-wide initiatives, as required.

Attributes & Experience

- Post-secondary degree or diploma in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 3 to 5 years of related experience, preferably within a law firm or other professional services environment.
- Experience supporting RFPs, client proposals, competitive bids, alternative fee arrangements, or other pricing-related initiatives is strongly preferred.
- Advanced analytical and financial modelling skills, including proficiency in Excel (e.g., pivot tables, complex formulas and data modelling); knowledge of SQL is an asset.
- Experience working with large and complex data sets, including extracting, analyzing and interpreting information from accounting or financial systems. Familiarity with Elite 3E, Power BI or similar reporting and business intelligence tools is an asset.
- Demonstrated ability to leverage technology and AI-enabled tools to improve efficiency, analysis and decision-making.
- Strong business writing, communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Ability to build strong working relationships with stakeholders across the firm.
- Strong client service orientation combined with the ability to manage multiple client needs at the same time.
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) with the ability to interact with individuals at all levels of the organization with tact and diplomacy.




- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work well both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
- Ability to plan, organize, schedule and deliver within tight deadlines in a high-pressure workplace.

Additional information

This position is part of our hybrid work model with 3 days in the office per week. As part of our onboarding, new hires are required to be in the office more often for the first few months of employment to ensure they receive the requisite cross training.
