The Opportunity

As Senior Property Accountant, you will play a key role in the financial management of Hopewell’s commercial property portfolio, leading CAM preparation and reconciliations, annual property budgeting, and the timely delivery of accurate tenant statements. You will work closely with senior management, client representatives, property management teams, tenants, and auditors to resolve complex accounting matters while providing leadership, coaching, and support to fellow team members.

What You'll Do

- Be responsible and accountable for CAM preparation and reconciliation for the HRES managed portfolio.
- Ensure timely issuance of CAM statements to tenants – within set deadlines.




- Accountable for and managing the ongoing annual budgeting process.
- Liaise with senior management, client representatives, and the property management team.
- Liaise with external tenants and clients regarding CAM issues.
- Liaise with auditors.
- Provide leadership, coaching, and training to co-workers.
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements / Qualifications

- 10+ years of full-cycle accounting experience in a property management environment.
- Expertise in property budgeting.
- Ability to mentor, train, and support junior accounting staff.
- Solid working knowledge of Yardi and Microsoft Office applications.
- Working knowledge of MRI would be an asset.
- Significant experience with leases, both analysis and interpretation.
- Self-directed, detail-oriented, optimistic, professional.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- A formal accounting designation is an asset, but not a requirement.

Working Hours Hopewell's core hours are Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with flexibility available on either end of the workday. Work hours may extend the 40-hour work week, on occasion.

Pay: From $80,000.00 per year
