Your Mission

As a Software Developer at Helm, you’ll design, build, and enhance the next generation of features that power Helm CONNECT. You’ll work across the stack from front-end to back-end, collaborating with product, UX, QA, and other developers to create elegant, reliable, and scalable solutions that help real-world marine crews do their jobs more safely and efficiently.

You will

Design & Develop

- Drive the design and implementation of current features across the full software stack, leveraging modern design patterns.
- Write clean, maintainable code in C#, .NET, Vue, TypeScript, and PostgreSQL.
- Perform code reviews and ensure design and coding adhere to Helm’s standards.
- Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize performance across the stack.

Collaborate & Deliver
- Partner with Product Managers, UX, and QA to translate ideas into reality and achieve high-value, high-quality solutions which meet business needs.
- Participate in daily stand-ups, kick-offs, collaborative estimation and retrospective meetings.
- Break down requirements into actionable, estimable development tickets.
- Manage project timelines while promoting high quality standards within the team.
- Contribute to infrastructure-as-code, monitoring, and test automation to ensure reliability.

Learn & Improve
- Continuously refine our development practices, tools, and standards within an agile methodology.
- Share knowledge, mentor peers, and help the team deliver faster, better, and stronger.
- Become fully trained on all assigned Helm products and tools.
- Support Helm’s culture of teamwork, approachability, accountability and determination and participate in company events, when possible.





You Bring:
- 7+ years of hands-on full-stack development experience.
- Related Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
- Strong proficiency in C# / .NET (Core or 8).
- You can manage working in legacy and new systems/frameworks in an evolving code base.
- Demonstrated ability to onboard quickly onto a large code base.
- Experience with JavaScript/TypeScript and Vue 2 or 3, experience with Knockoutjs is a plus.
- Solid understanding of relational databases (PostgreSQL or SQL Server).
- Knowledge of HTML5, CSS/Less, T-SQL, and version control (Git/GitHub).
- Strong code review skills, and ability to think through edge cases and workflows outside the happy path.
- You are as committed to getting your team mates’ work across the line as your own.
- Broad technical curiosity and learning agility, you like figuring things out.
- Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively in a remote, distributed team.
- Exposure to DevOps workflows or CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience with AWS services or cloud-based deployments.

Bonus Points
- Background in maritime, maintenance, compliance, or industrial software.
- Knowledgeable on usability and UI trends and eager to learn new technologies, new ways to work and open to new perspectives

- Compensation with On-Target Earnings (OTE) of $100,000 - $130,000 CAD
- Base salary range: $95,000 – $130,000 CAD
