Senior Structural Engineer/Technical Lead

Location: Kingston, ON - hybrid

Our client is a well-established multidisciplinary engineering firm that specializes in land development engineering, structural engineering, and building services (mechanical and electrical). They are looking for a Technical Lead/Senior Structural Engineer to join their team on a permanent basis in Kingston on a hybrid basis.

Role and Responsibilities:

- Lead the successful planning, execution, and completion of structural engineering projects for our clients - with a robust focus on quality, cost-effective delivery, safety, and compliance.
- Act as Project Manager on single-discipline projects, keeping them on time and on budget.
- Coordinate with Project Management team on multi-disciplinary projects to keep things moving forward as planned.
- Provide technical expertise, guidance, training, and mentorship to your team.
- Write proposals and reports, review designs, and coordinate with vendors and clients.




- Using your extensive knowledge of building codes and structural standards: OBC Part 4, CSA A23.3, CSA S16, CSA S136, CSA O86

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in engineering, with an emphasis in Structural Engineering.
- P.Eng. designation in good standing with Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO).
- 8+ years of experience in an Engineering role.
- Comfortable with field work: construction sites, contractors, and building relationships in the Kingston area are a regular part of this role.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and structural analysis software (e.g., SAFI GSE, S-Frame, SPSlab, MASS, Woodworks); basic coding experience is a plus.
