SERVICE INSTALLER –
Position: Service Installer
Reports To: Service Department Coordinator and/or Management
Employment Status: Full-Time
Position Summary The Service Installer is responsible for completing service, warranty, repair, adjustment, and installation work relating to cabinetry, millwork, countertops, hardware, and related products supplied or installed by the Company. The position may also be required to complete full cabinet installations, site measurements, project mark-outs, and pre-installation site inspections as directed by the Company.
The Service Installer is expected to represent the Company professionally while working in customers' homes, construction sites, and other locations.
Duties and Responsibilities
· Attend residential, commercial, builder, and construction sites to complete assigned service and installation work.
· Inspect and assess cabinetry, millwork, hardware, and related products to determine the nature and cause of reported deficiencies.
· Complete repairs, adjustments, touch-ups, replacements, and modifications as required.
· Adjust cabinet doors, drawer fronts, hinges, drawer systems, hardware, panels, trim, mouldings, and other components.
· Remove and replace damaged or defective cabinetry components when required.
· Perform cutting, fitting, scribing, drilling, fastening, finishing, and other work necessary to properly complete service or installation work.
· Complete full or partial cabinet and millwork installations when assigned by the Company, including kitchens, vanities, laundry rooms, bars, built-ins, and other cabinetry or millwork projects.
· Attend upcoming projects to complete site measurements, field measurements, mark-outs, and pre-installation inspections when requested.
· Verify site conditions, dimensions, elevations, wall locations, appliance locations, plumbing/electrical locations, and other relevant conditions as required for the assigned measurement or mark-out.
· Report discrepancies between drawings, measurements, site conditions, or project specifications to the appropriate supervisor before proceeding where necessary.
· Review assigned service or installation work prior to attending the site and ensure the required tools, parts, and materials are available.
· Accurately document completed work, outstanding deficiencies, required parts, measurements, site conditions, and any additional work that may be necessary.
· Take photographs and provide documentation of site conditions and completed work when requested.
· Immediately report damage, installation concerns, product defects, customer concerns, or conditions outside the Employee's scope of work to the appropriate supervisor.
· Maintain regular communication with the Service Department and/or management regarding assigned work.
· Maintain Company equipment, vehicles, materials, and supplies in a clean, safe, and professional condition.
· Follow all Company policies,
procedures, installation standards, manufacturer requirements, and health and safety requirements.
· Wear and properly use all required personal protective equipment.
· Maintain a valid driver's licence and safely operate Company vehicles where required.
· Maintain professional and courteous conduct when dealing with customers, builders, contractors, suppliers, coworkers, and other trades.
· Protect customers' homes and property while completing work and maintain a clean and safe work area.
· Refrain from making commitments regarding warranty coverage, compensation, credits, replacement, or responsibility on behalf of the Company unless specifically authorized by management.
· Obtain customer, builder, or site representative acknowledgement of completed work when required.
· Assist with deliveries, warehouse duties, showroom work, or other operational duties when reasonably required.
· Perform such other duties and responsibilities as may reasonably be assigned by the Company from time to time.
Employee Tools and Equipment The Employee is required to supply, maintain, and use their own standard hand tools and power tools reasonably necessary to perform cabinet service and installation work. All Employee-owned tools must be maintained in safe and proper working condition and be appropriate for the work being performed.
The Company may, at its discretion, provide specialized tools, equipment, consumables, or other items required for particular projects. The provision of any tools or equipment by the Company does not remove the Employee's general obligation to maintain the standard tools normally required to perform their position.
The Employee is responsible for the care, maintenance, security, and replacement of their personally owned tools.
Qualifications and Requirements
· Have experience with cabinetry, millwork, carpentry, installation, service, or a related trade.
· Have the skills and experience necessary to complete cabinet service work and full cabinet installations independently when required.
· Be capable of accurately reading and interpreting cabinet drawings, plans, elevations, layouts, and specifications.
· Be capable of completing accurate field measurements and project mark-outs.
· Have a working knowledge of cabinet construction, installation methods, hardware, and adjustment procedures.
· Supply and maintain the standard tools necessary to perform the position.
· Be capable of safely using hand tools, power tools, ladders, and other equipment required for the position.
· Have strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
· Be able to work independently and manage assigned work efficiently.
· Have good communication and customer service skills.
· Be punctual, dependable, organized, and skilled.
· Hold and maintain a valid Ontario driver's licence with a driving record acceptable to the Company's insurer where driving is required for the position.
· Be physically capable of performing the normal duties associated with the position, subject to the Company's obligations under applicable human rights and employment legislation.
Customer Service and Company Representation The Employee acknowledges that the Service Installer regularly represents the Company directly in customers' homes and on job sites. The Employee is therefore expected to conduct themselves professionally at all times and communicate respectfully with customers and other parties.
Customer complaints, disputes, requests for compensation, warranty determinations, or concerns that cannot be resolved through the assigned work are to be referred to management. The Employee shall not admit liability, promise compensation, authorize replacement, or make commitments on behalf of the Company without prior authorization.
Health and Safety The Employee must comply with all applicable health and safety legislation, Company safety policies, job-site rules, and safe-work procedures. The Employee must immediately report workplace injuries, accidents, unsafe conditions, vehicle incidents, and damaged equipment.
The Employee must report to work fit for duty and must not perform work or operate a Company vehicle, machinery, or equipment while impaired by alcohol, cannabis, illegal drugs, medication, or any other substance that may impair the Employee's ability to safely perform their duties, subject to the Company's obligations under applicable law.
General
This is intended to describe the general nature and principal responsibilities of the position and is not an exhaustive list of all duties. The Employee acknowledges that the position may involve a combination of service work, warranty work, full or partial installations, site measurements, project mark-outs, deliveries, and other field duties depending on the operational needs of the Company.
The Company may reasonably modify, add to, or reassign duties and responsibilities based on operational requirements, subject to applicable law.
The Employee agrees to perform their duties diligently, professionally, safely, and in accordance with the Company's policies, procedures, standards, and reasonable directions from management.
Pay: $25.00-$28.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40.0 – 44.0 per week
