Keith’s Custom Sheet Metal Inc. is a custom HVAC sheet metal manufacturer specializing in fabricated ductwork and fittings. We are looking for a Production Worker / Secondary Laser Operator to join our shop team.

This is primarily a hands-on production position working alongside our journeymen sheet metal workers to manufacture HVAC ductwork and fittings. As part of the role, you will also be trained as a secondary operator for our CNC laser cutting system, typically operating the laser approximately 1–2 days per week as required.

What You’ll Do

Shop Production

- Assist with fabrication and assembly of HVAC ductwork and fittings
- Cut, form, handle, and assemble sheet metal components
- Use hand tools, power tools, and sheet metal machinery
- Read drawings, measurements, dimensions, and production instructions
- Prepare materials and components for production
- Maintain quality and safety standards
- Keep work areas clean and organized

Secondary CNC Laser Operation

- Learn to operate, set up, and troubleshoot our CNC laser cutting system
- Provide backup and support to the primary laser operator
- Load and unload sheet material and finished parts
- Monitor cutting operations and identify machine, material, programming, or quality issues
- Work with CNC controls, software, and digital production files
- Assist with routine maintenance and housekeeping around the laser

Shipping & Material Handling

- Assist with receiving incoming materials
- Prepare completed orders for shipment or customer pickup
- Load, unload, and organize materials and finished products
- Verify quantities and identify discrepancies when required

- Have strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Be comfortable with computers and learning new software
- Be able to read measurements and work accurately
- Be dependable, detail-oriented, and safety-conscious
- Be willing to learn from experienced tradespeople
- Be comfortable with physical work in a manufacturing environment
- Work well independently and as part of a small team

Previous experience with sheet metal, manufacturing, CNC equipment, laser cutting, machining, welding, or mechanical work is an asset, but not required. The right person with strong mechanical aptitude, computer skills, and a willingness to learn can be trained.
