Cambridge Pro Fab Inc. is seeking an experienced, organized and dependable Shipper / Receiver / Logistics Coordinator to join our team.
Work Schedule: Monday to Thursday, 7:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with a half-day Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
This is a hands-on position responsible for coordinating incoming and outgoing shipments, receiving materials, arranging freight between our facilities and subcontractors, maintaining accurate inventory records, and ensuring materials are transported and stored safely.
The successful candidate will be highly organized, able to manage changing priorities, and comfortable communicating with multiple departments, facilities, suppliers, subcontractors and transportation companies.
Responsibilities
- Receive daily priorities and shipping requirements from the Shipping/Receiving Supervisor.
- Receive incoming goods and verify shipments against packing slips, purchase orders, invoices and other documentation.
- Inspect incoming materials for quantity, condition and accuracy.
- Record shortages, discrepancies and damaged materials and report concerns to the appropriate supervisor.
- Accept or return merchandise in accordance with established company procedures.
- Coordinate the scheduling and movement of materials between Cambridge Pro Fab facilities, TMI, paint subcontractors and external freight companies.
- Arrange and coordinate internal and external freight requirements.
- Communicate regularly with other company facilities regarding incoming shipments, outgoing materials and available storage capacity.
- Plan shipments with consideration for load dimensions, weight, material orientation, securement and safe transportation.
- Prepare shipping documentation, identifying information, labels and shipping instructions.
- Coordinate pickups and deliveries with transportation providers.
- Operate forklifts and other material-handling equipment to safely load, unload, move and store materials.
- Assist with loading and unloading trucks as required.
- Maintain accurate shipping,
receiving and inventory records.
- Maintain accurate inventory within designated storage and crib areas.
- Ensure materials are properly identified, organized and stored.
- Follow established procedures for the safe storage and handling of chemicals and other controlled materials.
- Follow applicable Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) requirements when preparing or handling regulated shipments.
- Immediately report any concerns that may affect employee safety, product quality, production schedules or customer delivery dates.
- Work closely with production, purchasing, quality, supervisors and other facilities to ensure materials are available when required.
- Maintain the required level of quality and accuracy in all shipping and receiving activities.
- Complete daily timesheets and required documentation.
- Assist coworkers and other departments as required to support production demands.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives related to safety, quality, organization and productivity.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in shipping, receiving, logistics, warehousing or material coordination is preferred.
- Experience working in a manufacturing or industrial environment is considered an asset.
- Previous experience coordinating freight, carriers and plant-to-plant shipments is an asset.
- Forklift experience is required.
- Valid forklift certification is an asset.
- Knowledge of safe loading, unloading and material-handling practices.
- Knowledge of Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) requirements is an asset.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple shipments and changing priorities throughout the day.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail when reviewing shipping documents, quantities and material information.
- Comfortable maintaining computerized and/or manual inventory and shipping records.
- Ability to work effectively with production employees, supervisors, transportation companies, subcontractors and other company locations.
- Ability to work independently while contributing to a team setting.
- Reliable, safety-conscious and able to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to safely operate material-handling equipment.
- Ability to assist with loading, unloading and movement of materials.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Ability to work within an active manufacturing and shipping environment.
- Must wear all required PPE, including approved safety footwear and eye protection.
What We're Looking For This position would be well suited to someone who is organized, proactive and comfortable taking ownership of logistics from start to finish. You should be able to look ahead, anticipate potential shipping or space issues, communicate effectively with multiple stakeholders and ensure materials reach the correct destination safely and on schedule.

Experience:
