Site Supervisors play a critical leadership role on the Post Structures team. A successful Site Supervisor is safety-focused, organized, and skilled at motivating and coordinating a team to keep projects running smoothly and on schedule.

The Site Supervisor's role encompasses the leadership of a construction crew on farm and rural residential construction projects. Reporting to the Construction Manager, the Site Supervisor's duties include ensuring safety practices and procedures are followed on site, overseeing site and equipment inspections, coordinating subtrades, and directing the crew through daily construction activities such as site preparation, framing, roofing, cladding, and general site operations.

Strong communication is an essential aspect of this role. The Site Supervisor acts as the link between the office and field, working closely with office staff including the Purchasing and Logistics Manager, and Project Managers to keep resources, materials, and schedules aligned with project goals.

Typical working hours are 7:30 AM to 5:00 PM, totaling approximately 42 hours per week. Consistently meeting these hours, and ensuring the crew does the same, is important to keeping projects on schedule.

As a rural and agricultural contractor, our job sites are often located on working farms and rural properties. Site Supervisors should expect to work around animals, hay, and other elements of an active agricultural setting, and should help set that expectation for the crew.

DUTIES

- Work safely and in accordance with Occupational Health and Safety regulations.
- Complete site inspections and complete safety paperwork, ensuring the site and equipment are in safe working order.
- Ensure safety practices and procedures are followed on site by leading by example, overseeing team members, addressing concerns directly,



and coaching; document all of the above on the weekly safety log.
- Ensure trades arrive onsite with required training paperwork (Form 1000, Proof of Working at Heights, Elevated Lift Training as required, WHMIS).
- Oversee compliance with the POST Health & Safety Handbook and the OHSA.
- Report any incidents, near misses, or non-compliance to the Construction Manager.
- Coordinate the use of company resources, including equipment, rentals, materials, and labour, in an efficient manner.
- Apply correct building procedures and communicate with the team to reach project goals.
- Break down project goals into daily targets with the team.
- Assist the Project Manager with the subtrade schedule to ensure the jobsite operates smoothly.
- Coordinate with the Purchasing and Logistics Manager on equipment, materials, and rentals to support site operations.
- Motivate the team by example and through encouragement.
- Ensure pace is appropriate to the task.
- Foster an environment where the team can flourish.
- Connect with and care for team members and nurture opportunities for growth.
- Create a safe space for the team to express themselves, communicate, and learn.
- Foster an environment of grace and patience with subtrades, clients, and fellow team members.
- Communicate the big picture with the team, involving them in the process.
- Act as the link between office and field staff; collaborate throughout the execution process, identifying areas for improvement and adjustments, and thinking proactively.




- Coordinate with office staff on project progress, resources, and scheduling needs.
- Work closely with the Construction Manager on site direction, safety compliance, and issue resolution.
- Communicate with clarity around expectations and timelines.
- Encourage a drama-free jobsite without hiding or ignoring issues.

EXPERIENCE

- Grade 12 High School Diploma, GED or equivalent is preferred;
- Prior experience in general construction is required;
- Prior experience in a supervisory or leadership role is an asset;
- Carpentry certification, or working towards it, is an asset;
- Strong knowledge of worksite safety, including working at heights and the Occupational Health and Safety Act;
- Comfortable coordinating shop visits to support equipment and material needs;
- Ability to operate and oversee the safe use of required equipment;
- A valid, clean Drivers Abstract.

SAFETY

- Work in all seasons and varied weather conditions;
- Must be comfortable working at heights for extended periods;
- Champion a culture of safety by leading inspections, safety talks, daily logs, and documentation;
- Requires good manual dexterity (hand, hand with arm, two hands) and multi-limb coordination;
- Work overhead in occasional extended reach positions.

As POST Structures continues to grow and expand geographically, a second, satellite location has opened in St. Catharines, ON. We are looking for a crew to operate in this area, supported by Head Office and occasional support from the existing crew members based in Alma, ON.

This crew will remain in the South, and will meet at the designated St. Catharines location, travelling together to job sites in the POST truck.

Pay: $35.00-$44.50 per hour
