Reporting to the Regional Manager, Staffing, the Staffing Assistant provides administrative functions and staffing support to the staffing unit in the regional office.
The Staffing Assistant is often the first contact person for the Government of Nunavut Departments; as well as the public and other agencies. This position is responsible for coordinating all advertisements for all Government of Nunavut employment opportunities and is responsible for receiving Summer Student Employment Program applications.
The Staffing
Assistant will assist all Regional Staffing Officers on their day-to-day activities, pertaining to all correspondence received for expression of interest on all active competitions.
Main responsibilities for the Staffing Assistant include:
- Provides office administration and competition support services to the Regional Office
- Processing of a Casual Staffing Action
- ePersonality Administration
- Performs other duties as required The knowledge, skills, and abilities required for this job would normally be acquired through Completion of Grade 12, general knowledge of office management and procedures and organizational skill-administration experience normally obtained by 1 year Human Resource experience.
Ability to speak in Inuinnaqtun/Inuktitut is required.
The Official Languages of Nunavut are Inuktut, English and French. Applicants may submit their resume in any of the official languages of Nunavut. Fluency in Inuinnaqtun/Inuktitut is required for the position. Knowledge of Inuit communities, culture, land,Inuit Qaujimajatuqangit,
Inuktut and experience working in a northern cross-cultural setting are also considered assets.
