Looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Structural Drafter to join an engineering team. The successful candidate will have a strong background in structural drafting and experience preparing detailed structural drawings for residential, commercial, and/or industrial projects.

Key Responsibilities

- Prepare detailed structural drawings and construction documents based on engineering designs and specifications.

- Produce and modify 2D drawings using AutoCAD.

- Develop and maintain 3D structural models and drawings using Tekla Structures.

- Prepare structural plans, sections, elevations, details, and connection drawings.

- Coordinate structural drawings with architectural, mechanical, electrical, and other disciplines.

- Review drawings for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with project requirements.

- Incorporate engineers' markups, design changes, and revisions into drawings.

- Assist engineers with drawing preparation, detailing, and project documentation.

- Coordinate with project teams, consultants, contractors, and fabricators as required.

- Maintain drawing standards, templates, and document control procedures.

Qualifications &

Skills

- Diploma or certificate in Structural Drafting, Civil/Structural Engineering Technology, or a related field.

- Previous experience in structural drafting/detailing is required.

- Strong proficiency in AutoCAD.

- Experience with Tekla Structures is highly preferred.

- Ability to read and interpret structural engineering drawings, plans, and specifications.





- Familiarity with structural systems, materials, and construction methods.

- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

- Ability to work independently as well as part of a multidisciplinary team.

- Good communication and organizational skills.

- Experience with steel, concrete, and/or wood structures is an asset.

- Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members and stakeholders.

- Valid class 5 driver’s License and access to a reliable vehicle is required.

- Knowledge of BC building code and regulations.

- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

- Willingness to engage in continuous learning and professional development.

Preferred Experience

- Experience preparing structural drawings for steel, concrete, and wood-frame structures.

- Experience with structural steel detailing and connections.

- Knowledge of Canadian structural drafting standards and construction practices.

- Experience working with engineering consultants, fabricators, and contractors.
