Responsibilities

- Welcome patients warmly upon arrival and assist with check-in procedures using electronic health record systems such as Epic.
- Schedule appointments efficiently while managing patient flow to minimize wait times.
- Support the optometrists by preparing exam rooms, handling basic optical measurements, and assisting with frame fittings.
- Communicate clearly with patients about their eyewear options, lens choices, and optical products to enhance their satisfaction.
- Maintain accurate patient records, including medical terminology related to eye health and treatment plans.
- Assist with laboratory tasks such as lens ordering or adjustments when needed.




- Manage retail sales of eyewear and accessories by providing knowledgeable recommendations based on individual needs.
- Uphold cleanliness and organization of the reception area and optical lab to ensure a professional environment.

Experience

- Prior experience in retail sales or customer service is highly valued for engaging with patients confidently.
- Familiarity with optical products, eyewear fitting, or laboratory experience is a plus but not required; training will be provided.
- Knowledge of medical terminology related to eye health enhances communication with healthcare providers.
- Experience working with electronic health records systems like Epic is advantageous but can be learned on the job.
- Background in retail management or sales demonstrates solid organizational skills and customer focus.

Education

- AEC / DEP or Skilled Trade Certificate (preferred)
