Summary

Reporting to the Site Shipping Leader, the Team Leader - Shipping & Receiving is responsible for the efficient shipping/receiving of packaging and production materials, in a fast-paced, just-in-time (JIT) food manufacturing environment. Responsible for the Shipping TM’s on shift.

Primary Responsibilities

- Understands and fulfills the duties of a leader with the following programs within the warehouse area: Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s), FIFO, Return to Stock (RTS), All food safety programs, health & safety programs and all FGF policies, programs or procedures.
- Conduct pre-shift huddles and provides feedback for Team Members
- Leads, coaches, mentors and trains Team Members
- Monitoring each TM performance and reporting any under performer to Site Shipping Leader
- Assisting and ensuring that job & break rotation for TMs are done fairly & consistently
- Oversees the receipt and warehousing of incoming ingredients and packaging materials
- Ensure that all POs are printed and provided to receiver and follow up on any outstanding POs
- Responsible for managing all material transfers to production on time
- Assisting in cycle counts and be able to investigate any discrepancies and provide feedback




- Ensures Operations Management System (OMS) procedures are being followed (entering inventory into the operating system)
- Be able to utilize all the provided tools (white board, excel files, TTS app, batch sheets) effectively
- Ensures all health and safety and food safety principles are followed and adhered to
- Report any infrastructure or other defects in a timely manner
- Maintains excellent working relationships and teamwork with internal departments and various teams
- Updates team on daily issues and fosters an environment of continuous improvement
- Be able to identify any shortage of material and report to production shift leader and/or Site shipping leader
- Answers calls on radio (cell phone, if applicable) from various departments
- Act as backup for Site Shipping Leader in its absence
- Performs additional duties as needed

Required Experience

- Minimum 1-2 years of experience working in a manufacturing environment (food/bakery experience is desirable)
- Must have a valid forklift operator license (Counterbalance / Raymond Reach) from a recognized training provider
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to multi-task
- Strong communication, organization,



problem solving and analytical skills
- Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Working knowledge of GMP's, HACCP, BRC & O.H.S.A is required
- Experience with Warehouse Management Systems (SAP experience is preferred)
