Akidemy Preschool is a Reggio Emilia-inspired early learning centre in Calgary with two locations. We believe children are competent, curious, and full of theory about the world and we're looking for educators who believe that too.

We are currently seeking a temporary full-time Early Childhood Educator to provide coverage for an approved employee leave. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who can step into an established classroom, build relationships quickly, and bring genuine warmth and professionalism to a collaborative team and learn about the reggio approach

Position Details

This is a temporary, full-time position starting as soon as possible. The expected duration is approximately until mid-October 2026, with the possibility of extension depending on the duration of the leave and Akidemy's operational needs. For the right person, there may also be an opportunity to remain connected to Akidemy.

What You'll Do

- Work alongside a strong, experienced team in a Reggio-inspired classroom environment
- Support children's learning through play, inquiry, observation, and meaningful engagement
- Maintain active supervision and follow all health, safety, and licensing requirements
- Contribute to a warm, inclusive,



and well-organized classroom
- Communicate with families with care and professionalism

What We're Looking For

- A current Alberta Early Childhood Educator certification (Level 2 or Level 3)
- Valid Standard First Aid and CPR certification (Level C)
- A willingness to provide a current Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Search
- Someone who is dependable, team-oriented, and genuinely enjoys working with young children
- The ability to step into a team, adapt quickly, and build trusting relationships with children and colleagues
- Alignment with a play-based, inquiry-driven, Reggio-inspired approach to early learning
